For all the years I’ve entertained and made new friends, nothing compares to the power of the Internet to bring people together.  Last night there was a remarkable mix of talented, accomplished, interesting people with whom I’m lucky enough to call friends in the pick-up-the-phone, we-really-will-do-lunch kinda way.  The mix included a radio host, Chicago historian/author, prominent photographers, photojournalists, marketing experts to the likes of Disney, facilitators, web designers, graphic artists, a painter/muralist, corporate executives, social media geniuses, a best selling author, couturier, milliner ……. and I could go on and on.  What everyone had in common: a track record of professional excellence, a  commitment to going the extra mile,  a love of their work, willingness to share themselves and their expertise, AND a sense of humor.  It was joyous, genuine and gratifying.  To sweeten the pot, I’ll report on the ROIs. Business was most def done.
