Me and the Other 22 Million Entrepreneurs Like Me

There is nothing more exhilarating than knowing where you’re going in business, seeing the road ahead and knowing what steps to take.  Just having that in your pocket feels like a currency, like being rich with hope AND strategy.

Conversely, speaking for myself and possibly the other 22 million of us US entrepreneurs who sometimes get befuddled, there is nothing more depleting than raging blindly against the current.

If, “Will somebody just tell me what to do and I will do it!” has ever echoed through your tormented soul, you are not alone.

Like any skill, and business is surely a skill, you can’t alter the path you are on by running faster and harder on it.

Now the catch 22 is that 1) entrepreneurs don’t like to be told what to do. 2) chances are your business is already going and stopping it is not an option 3) And even if you did stop it, you may not know where to go next.

This exact conundrum IS business – the dynamic cross-section of knowing what to do, not knowing what to do, and doing what you know all at the same time.

The key is to find great people who know what you don’t know (perspective and experience)  so you can do MORE of what you already know ( are you still with me here?) which is why Carol Roth is our next speaker at the Big Ooga. Because the ability to take pause, while you are working furiously, and realign while you are moving ahead is the kind of foundational information you NEED to have, and this will continuously evolve as you do.  (are we tired yet or what?)

So here is the strategy as to why Carol and why now.  It’s a new year and we need to set a foundation in place.  Foundation is A,  working like a maniac is B.

Now I wouldn’t suggest her, highlight her, scream her name from the rooftop if I didn’t firmly believe she knows what she’s talking about.  (MSNBC and Fox also happen to agree with me..but I’d like to tell THEM I found her first)

So join us dang it!  Feb 1 at the Catalyst Ranch for a Big Ooga Meeting featuring Carol Roth.   Don’t do it for me, don’t do it for Carol.  Do it because you’ll GET A GRIP!
