The Original Social Networking Tool
I was speaking to a fellow entrepreneur in Chicago who started her business a year ago and is now fully booked with her time for 2010. “What is your secret to marketing?” I asked. And she smiled and said, “Having dinner at the bar of my favorite local restaurant.”
“Really?” I said loving the sound of that.
“Yes, I struck up a relationship with the bartender and once he found out what I did, he said I needed to meet this guy he knows who owns several small businesses.”
The bartender made the introduction, my friend did her thing for the guy’s first company and he was so impressed he hired her for the rest of the year.
For entrepreneurs who are great at what they do, all they need is that foot in the door.
Call somebody new today. Take them to coffee or a drink and make time to bond. Don’t forget the original social media tool is YOU.
As Elene Cafaso of Enerpace says, “End strong.”
