I have started two companies - one backwards and the other with planning.  The one I knew nothing about was much easier than the one I thought I knew something about.  Here are both formulas for your reference.

Company 1

Epiphany + no clue + limited skills + first client falls in lap x ignorance and lack of experience x elation + negative feedback from friends and relatives = massive self-assurance + launch.

Company 2

Stroke of genius + planning + intuition - appropriate skill sets + steep learning curve x terror - money + professional connections + sleepless nights with mad dreams of unrealistic success ./. new planning + new intuition + new tactics = launch squared ./. frenzy x repeat squared and a burrito because of cash flow.
