The real heavy lifting for Chicago entrepreneurs is the thinking – it’s the figuring out and adjusting  – what is my product or service? What needs to change and improve? What words should I use to describe it? The ongoing evolution process is agonizing!  Real entrepreneurship means hitting moving targets and constantly adjusting to the market.

There is the impulse to jump into a new idea.

But it has to be held long enough to put the right structure in place.

If you wait too long you might miss the opportunity.

If you don’t stop, you could make a mistake.

So where does this leave us? In a fluid state of business – in a constant state of evaluating.  And that’s where the dialog becomes so important.  Don’t be afraid to talk to each other.

Question everything. It’s not only important. It IS the heavy lifting.
