The Entrepreneur Boom Has Demand. Are You With Us?

In recessionary economics lack of demand drives companies downward. Yet we have such an enormous demand in the entrepreneur sector it’s nothing short of a boom.

Entrepreneurs demand their own survival. Not kinda sorta… we HAVE to have it. We don’t just want success, we need it, can’t live without out and will work insane hours and seek solutions through seasons, sleepless nights and endless days.

Entrepreneurs demand we do the work we love, not luke-warm-sorta-like work, but work that enriches our souls. (the other stuff might keep the lights on, but the real work is what keeps us juiced).

Entrepreneurs demand new ways of reaching new clients because without new clients we can’t do our beloved work.

This creates a demand for the people and skills that can help us do this. That means YOU – your skills and ability to connect others.

Entrepreneurs demand a great deal of themselves and nothing short of balls-to-the-wall efforts will ever be acceptable to the true entrepreneur.

BOOM!

Entrepreneurs are entering the workforce in BOOM numbers. This BOOM needs your support, skills and knowledge. Not kinda-needs it, but really Really needs it. I’m talking to you – coaches, strategists, bloggers, developers, writers, lawyers, bankers, marketers, organizers, accountants ETC.

There is a BOOM in finding the courage to begin, evolve and succeed in companies of our own creation.

There is a BOOM in taking control of our destinies.

There is a BOOM in expressing ourselves and actually being heard.

There is a BOOM in aligning with others instead of getting stuck in dysfunctional systems with dysfunctional people.

There is a BOOM in sharing our BOOM thinking.

There is a BOOM in paying it forward.

There is a BOOM in connectivity and collaborations.

There is BOOM in unleashing our pent up desires to find out what we are really capable of doing.

There is a BOOM between companies and their customers.

There is a BOOM in a renewed commitment to work beyond what any outside influence can inspire.

There is BOOM in returning to our true selves and shedding our false selves to fit into systems that don’t fit us.

There is a BOOM in organizing our own days, lives and companies.

There is a BOOM in honoring the mustard seed in all of us.

There is a BOOM in love and business.

And there is a BOOM in telling the truth and having the truth connect us like never before.

It’s not lost on me that I live in a country where walking into a grocery store is a privilege. Where I can buy flowers with my bread and not have to choose if I will eat, but what.

In my great country where freedom rings, I’m free to think what I want and express it any way I choose.

I can read books by generals and degenerates deciding for myself their value.

I can walk on my own ground and grow whatever I want from roses to onions or add flamingos.

I’m free to build a business and hire who I want – whatever that business might be.

My friends can come in a rainbow of colors and share a seat next to me at any table.

I can openly oppose those who offend me and openly applaud my heroes.

I can write as freely as I can ready ANY book, blog or written work – whether I agree with it or not.

I’m free to build a business and grow it any direction with people I choose to work with.

With Freedom, ambition has no ceiling and nothing prevents me from giving my children a foundation.

As a family we can believe what we want, worship where we choose, and choose not to worship at all.

Where there is need, I am free to help. Where there is injustice I am free to congregate, where there is pain, I am free to lighten the load in my own way of choice.

To the men and women who have fought and died for the freedom I live in every moment of every day..I thank you, my children thank you and my children’s unborn children thank you.

One day I hope you no longer have to die for freedom and that your work is only to defend peace.

Until then, to you and your families – for the harm it has caused you, for the pain it has given you and for the bravery you have summoned on our behalf, it is not for naught.

Every loaf of bread that is served in this country carries the nourishment of freedom and its importance.

In her You Tube video interview after winning the Nobel Peace Prize, Jody Williams said the secret to making a difference in the world is to get off your a#$ and do something. Betty Williams, another winner started out as a secretary.

Laureates have come from the finest schools and the most impoverished streets. They have worked, dreamed and imagined a better world into existence.

As Kevin Gross, friend and business strategist asserts, “It is belief that must come first.”

And then, “we learn by doing,” according to John Holt, father of the home school movement and pioneer in alternative education. 

So I’m going to submit to you my own simple plan for changing the world.

1. Care about something deeply

2. Believe you can do something about it

3. Imagine a solution

4. Build a team 

5. Inspire the team to build a plan

6. Find people who believe the plan can work

7. Work like hell

As friend and strategist JoAnn Becker quotes Margaret Mead, Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world; indeed it’s the only thing that ever has.
