Leveraging Focused Networking – Business ain’t what it used to be

Last year, there was an AND in networking. I’ll join this group AND that. I’ll be active in this organization AND that.  With cash flow, there were lots of choices for events, luncheons, networks, meetings and classes.  If one blew, there were plenty more..not that you were reckless.   It was expensive but it was business.  You went, you spent, you worked.

Oh baby has it changed. There is a big OR where there once was an AND.   Getting the most mileage out of your networking is now an absolute necessity.   Here’s something to keep in mind while you stay active in your comfort group – the one you’ve built so carefully over time.  Add a group that is evolving within itself so you can continue to meet new people.  You don’t have to go a zillion places, but you do need a group that is constantly expanding.  Find one that suits your personality, your skill level or the level you aspire to achieve.

Find people who don’t know you, but get you, and you’re already half way there.  At Big Ooga, you’ll find people who share your ambition, accomplishment, intelligence and sense of humor.   But that was just a shameless plug for the group I love.

Where do you find your people?
